This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the health care unit through demonstration of consistent organizational and communication skills. This position assists RNs, LPNs, PCTs and Physicians in the patient care process. The Unit Assistant assists the nursing staff in monitoring the heart rhythms of patients on telemetry. The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff is essential. Some record keeping and posting of rhythm strips may be required.   • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Prior training in EKG rhythm strip interpretation preferred.
  • Completion of EKG rhythm education course required.
  • Ability to score 85% on required facility rhythm strip examination.
  • One year of clerical experience preferred.
  • Previous Hospital experience preferred.
