Job Description:
Pharmacy Medication Reconciliation Technician (Tech II)
Full-Time, First Shift
Assists the Pharmacists in the Emergency Department to obtain admission medication histories, to access patient risk factors to prescribed regimens, review and enter patient allergies and intolerances and to triage problems identified via communication/collaboration with ED providers. This job also includes order processing, inventory control, and quality assessment and improvement in pharmacy operations in accordance with accredited hospital operations in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, JCAHO standard s and State and Federal requirements. If needed to staff in central pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician II job description will cover duties and responsibilities in this role.
Description:
  • Accurately and efficiently performs a patient admission medication record
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and critical thinking
  • Performs miscellaneous duties and follows guidelines
  • Illustrates working knowledge of technology
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • National Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • Required Kentucky Board of Pharmacy registration certificate for Pharmacy Technician
  • Minimum of one-year experience as Pharmacy Technician
