About the job 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Paralegal to become an integral part of our trial teams, overseeing the coordination of all aspects before, during, and after trial proceedings. 

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various phases of the litigation process, including conducting interviews, performing legal research, filing documents, and attending trials. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct thorough pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments. 
  • Draft pleadings, motions, appellate documents, and ensure their timely filing with the court. 
  • Manage administrative duties such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, and oversee logistics. 
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes efficiently. 
  • Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests. 
  • Gather relevant information from diverse sources. 
  • Act as a liaison between trial teams and internal/external third parties. 
  • Assist in voir dire, jury selection, and witness preparation. 
  • Provide support for case settlements. 
  • Organize and maintain all case files and documentation, manage electronic databases and physical files, track important deadlines, and ensure that all case materials are available and in order for attorneys.
  • Coordinate the exchange of information between parties during the discovery phase, including collecting documents, scheduling depositions, preparing deposition summaries, and managing discovery timelines. 
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, coordinating witness testimony, and aiding in courtroom presentations. 
  • Track billable hours and assist with the creation of billing reports to ensure accurate invoicing of clients.

Paralegals are essential to the efficient and effective operation of our firm, requiring strong organizational, research, and communication skills. They must have a thorough understanding of legal terminology and procedures. Although they are not licensed attorneys and do not represent clients in court, provide legal advice, or set fees, their contribution is vital to the functionality of the legal our team. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven working experience as a Litigation Paralegal. 
  • In-depth knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, and legal practices. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong writing and communication skills, coupled with keen attention to detail. 
  • Extensive expertise in computer applications and databases. 
  • Possession of a Paralegal associate degree or other relevant certification.
