The Rudder, an iconic restaurant and bar since the 1950s, is seeking a full-time Dishwasher. Located in the Rocky Neck neighborhood of Gloucester, The Rudder has a decidedly neighborhood vibe that is warm and inviting. The restaurant also invites guests to visit us by boat and dine with us right on the water. Combining the fine food and attentive hospitality of Chef Barbara Lynch, The Rudder offers a rotating menu highlighting Gloucester’s local seafood and operates April-December each year (seasonal).
Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Representing a variety of backgrounds and experiences, everyone is united by a shared commitment to excellence, education, and hospitality. Candidates must have availability on weekends, days, and evenings as well as experience in a high volume full service restaurant. Ideal candidates will thrive in a team culture focused on exceeding guest expectations.
This is an opportunity to work for a well-renowned restaurant collective that encourages internal growth and promotes from within; you will hone your skills with a management team working directly under Chef Barbara. Applicants should possess a strong desire to further their careers and demonstrate good leadership skills. Candidates should share a passion for ingredients, technique, discipline and hospitality. Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- A Dishwasher will wash, store and rack plateware, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and other smallwares and equipment for the restaurant
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Practice proper food handling procedures
