Overview

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a vigilant and proactive Loss Prevention (LP) Team Member at our University of Notre Dame bookstore location to support our Loss Prevention Manager during the football season. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the safety and security of our events. You will help ensure that loss prevention measures are effectively implemented, and security protocols are adhered to, creating a secure environment for all attendees and staff. As a Loss Prevention Team Member, you will assist with monitoring, responding to incidents, and supporting our current team to uphold a high standard of security throughout the football season.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist in monitoring and implementing loss prevention strategies.
• Patrol and monitor designated areas to prevent and address any potential security issues or theft.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to security protocols and procedures.
• Respond to and report any suspicious activities or incidents in a timely manner.
• Provide support in conducting investigations and gathering evidence as needed.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with other LP team members and management.
• Additional responsibilities as required.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for employment.
• Previous experience in loss prevention or a related security role is preferred.
• Strong observational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including University of Notre Dame home football games, evenings and weekends.
• Reliable and detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high security standards.
