Job Description:
Summary:
The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing structural engineering and related technical expertise, primarily for high voltage substation and transmission line facilities. Responsibilities include design and analysis, project management, preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, cost estimating, and construction observation. The work may require short-term, out-of-town assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (including structural analysis and steel and concrete design)
Five years of related work experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification or ability to obtain PE certification within one year
Work experience with AutoCAD and structural engineering analysis software such as, STAAD Pro, MathCAD, LPile and MFAD, PLS-CADD suite
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
A flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven years of related work experience
Master's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis
Experience with 3D software such as Revit
Experience in the consulting industry
Strong technical skills in a wide range of structural analysis and design
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams
Demonstrated project organization and management skills
A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers to working primarily from a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Denver, Fort Collins, or Wheat Ridge, Colorado office. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barr's needs.

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000-$120,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
