Barrett Woodyard & Associates is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Near Charlotte, NC

Barrett Woodyard & Associates is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our project team in Charlotte, NC. At BW&A, our goal is to provide the highest level of engineering services to our clients. As an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with Senior Engineers assisting in designing electrical systems on a variety of projects. A successful candidate can expect to gain valuable engineering experience in designing, planning and analyzing electrical power systems for a variety of projects including but not limited to: high rise office buildings, general and medical office spaces, hospitality/hotels, educational facilities, distribution centers, manufacturing, retail and other commercial/industrial/institutional projects.

Primary Responsibilities

· Participate in the design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls for assigned projects.

· Communicate with clients, contractors, and other project team members as needed to support project design.

· Generate construction documents using AutoCAD/Revit

· Manage multiple projects through design until completion of construction

· Coordinate with design team professionals of other disciplines as they perform their designs to ensure proper coordination on construction documents.

· Research and apply applicable codes to design.

· Perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design documents.

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent BSET

· 5 years of related engineering experience

· Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification, preferred but not required.

Skills

· Strong interpersonal skills and experience maintaining successful client relationships

· Effective oral and written communication skills

· Strong ability to self-manage and multitask

· Strong attention to detail

· Strong organizational skills

· Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word

· AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
