Description
BW Flexible Systems is looking for Saw Operators to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible : for setting up and operating power saws to slot, cut, and trim metallic and non-metallic materials to blueprint specs, install blades on machinery using hand-tools, and verify dimensions of finished material using measuring devices.
Performing additional tasks such as loading saws, monitoring sawing operations, replacing damaged or worn saw blades; you will need to record data on production reports and assist staff with the maintenance and the repair of saw equipment.
Essential Qualifications and Responsibilities :
Ability to read and understand blueprints and pneumatic schematics.
Calculating optimum material utilization for each bar to avoid excessive scrap.
Clean, cut and debur steel working from prints, bills of material, route sheets and requisitions.
Maintain accurate inventory by performing raw material cycle counts.
Review inventory data using electronic database as needed.
Maintain the steel inventory report on a daily basis.
Determine speeds, feeds, tooling, and operation sequences for a considerable range of operations or set-ups.
Capacity to measure with tape measurer, scale, and calipers.
Accomplish duties of simple lay-outs, drilling, tapping, etc. when not cutting material
Clean and maintain equipment and organize work environment to meet all safety requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively and possesses both written and verbal interactions while working in a team environment.
Familiar with Microsoft Programs, entering data into system as needed.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications and Requirements :
High School Diploma or have a GED Certification
6 Months of experience working in a manufacturing setting AND / OR saw operating experience.
