Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Warehouse Associate receives, identifies, stores and delivers a wide variety of raw material and manufactured / purchased parts for additional processing, assembly, machining, or direct shipment.

It also labels, packs, and loads items for shipment according to specifications. RESPONSIBILITIES

Work from shop orders, receiving reports, material requisitions, repair order lists and / or verbal instructions to identify disposition of materials

Receive, identify, issue and store material / parts in established location using appropriate identification method

Fill and distribute material and repair orders

Unload incoming trucks as directed; inspect for damage; compare items and quantities received against freight bills

Maintain records of all items received and shipped

Perform cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy

Detect defective materials, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions

Operate material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or organize storage

Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues

Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly fashion

Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Adhere to rules for safety and cleanliness, maintaining work area and equipment in accordance with standards and policies for safe conduct and operation of equipment

Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION :

High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 1 year of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, production or related experience

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :

Math skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

Excellent organizational ability with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy

Excellent time-management skills with ability to effectively multi-task

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Interpersonal skills

Team oriented

Basic computer skills with ability to effectively maneuver through computer system to perform specified duties

Ability to operate various materials handling equipment

OTHER :

Must be eligible for forklift license

Must be flexible and willing to workovertimeas needed to complete shipments

Ability to periodically liftand / or moveup to35 pounds

Ability to bend, twist, squat, kneel, and lift (both lateral and overhead).

Requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with shipping notices, packing lists and assembly prints
