Under the direction of the Quality Director, the Risk Coordinator is responsible for the hospital-wide risk management program. The purpose of the hospital clinical risk coordinator function is to coordinate and facilitate the activities to prevent claims of general and professional liability against the hospital. The loss prevention function focuses on and promotes patient safety. The clinical risk coordinator activities also include those associated with automobile and property claims. Timely collection of quality and performance improvement measures; designing action plans for improving scores; educating hospital and medical staff; assisting the Quality Director in the planning and data collection of facility quality management and quality improvement processes.

Education: R.N. required, BSN Preferred, Educational classes related to job.

Experience: Minimum of five years progressive experience in acute care setting as a R.N. Minimum of two years of current experience in hospital related risk and quality of care management preferred. Experience reviewing and analyzing occurrences and medical records. Ability to provide adult education. Effective communication skills, demonstrates collaboration skills and maintains effective collegial relationships with others. Sound knowledge of TJC, state, and Federal standards. Must possess computer skills, to include Microsoft programs. Recognizes and maintains appropriate level of information sharing and confidentiality of sensitive and legal Hospital issues.

Licenses/Certs: Current California RN License / CPR certified

Wage Range: $94,390.40 - $141,585.60
