POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will on traffic engineering projects including focus areas of traffic signal design, signing, pavement markings, and analyses. This position is recognized as a technical specialist with an in-depth knowledge in focus area. This position is responsible for the complete management of all assigned projects, ranging in size and complexity. This also could be a member of teams that are managed by other project managers. Full management and authority of assigned projects includes, identifying and meeting client expectations, pricing and negotiating contracts, performing engineering services, oversight of project quality, resource identification and management, meeting project schedules and profitability goals. May participate in developing and maintaining client relationships, and marketing company services.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field required.
Experience:
12 years engineering experience in appropriate discipline and Texas P.E. licensure required. Knowledge/experience of MicroStation, GIS, and related design software preferred. Must obtain professional licensure in the states required by the company as soon as possible. Preferably, TxDOT pre-certified in categories: 3.7.1, 7.1.1, 7.3.1, 8.1.1, 8.2.1, and 8.3.1, or able to achieve pre-certification within 6 months of hire.
Travel Expectations:
Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state on occasion, which usually would consist of visiting other office locations, project sites, attending seminars or business meetings. Minimum travel is 20% of the time depending on projects. Certain positions will require more travel. Travel expectations will be communicated through the employee-owner’s manager, and for newly open positions, travel expectations will be reflected in the job posting announcement. Driver’s license with clean driving record required.
