POSITION TITLE: Paraprofessional - Speech, to assist the teletherapist, SLP for the 2024-2025 School Year

JOB DESCRIPTION: Supervise student transitions between classroom environment and therapy sessions. Assist the tele-therapist in the preparation of materials needed for tele-therapy sessions. Assist the tele-therapist in the provision of speech therapy services. Act as on-site facilitator during tele-therapy sessions. Supervise students during tele-therapy sessions. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Print IDEA documents as requested and provide to designated school personnel or parents. Facilitate communication between tele-therapist and school personnel as requested. Assist with data collection as directed by tele-therapist. Communicate with on-site personnel of any concerns or needs for tele-therapy program. Perform other duties as requested and required.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: High school diploma or GED. Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Paraprofessional License/Certificate from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
SKILLS: Training in special needs of disabled population, including first aid and controlling aggressive behavior. Physical demands: Must be able to stand and walk a minimum of six hours, lift, carry and pull up to 150 lbs.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities is preferred.
