The Chemical Intermediates business unit is seeking a professional like you to join our team in the Houston office. In this role, you will be responsible for technical, commercial, and marketing activities for the gas treatment business in the Americas. This position will provide the opportunity to work in the complex business environment that is the oil and gas energy market and will offer a full range of engineering, and marketing challenges. 

As a Technical Service Engineer, You Create Chemistry By...

• Supporting Gas Treatment Technology Managers in negotiating and concluding global technology licenses
• Preparing commercial and technical proposals using OASE design tools (Chemical plant simulation software)
• Performing technical/process design support, including process simulations and balance analysis
• Participating in HAZOP reviews at customer sites and reviewing work performed by outside contractors
• Supporting clients during project commissioning and providing onsite technical support during start-up
• Assisting customers with plant optimization, technical support, and general troubleshooting

If you have...

• Minimum BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Advanced education and experience in business (M.B.A., Marketing, Sales, etc.) is a plus
• Experience (1-5 years) in manufacturing, process engineering
• Working knowledge of chemical process simulation tools (e.g. Aspen, Promax, Protreat)
• Strong theoretical know-how and practical experience in troubleshooting plant problems and optimizing plant performance
• Experienced communication with technical clientele 
• Self-motivated, result oriented, focused working style with ability to multi-task
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation, influencing, presentation, reporting, and relationship building skills for use in internal and external environments. Ability to influence and provide direction to colleagues and customers, working and interacting in a cross-cultural environment.
