Optical Lab Manager Job Description (Long Term Contract)
Duties:
- Responsible for all labs/equipment in COMET Redmond.
- Interface with Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Software engineers to assure that our lab is operating at peak performance.
- Drive best-in-class lab practices around lab maintenance and documentation
- Drive ordering, tracking, receiving, and logging of all lab equipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment
- Follow and work with management to enforce all lab health and safety regulations
- Work with management to set lab goals and standards
Skills:
- Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter and creative problem-solver
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and responsibility
- Experienced with working in a laboratory environment
Experience:
- 5 years of direct experience managing one or more EE, ME, and/or Optical labs.
- Direct experience with setting inventory lists and ordering equipment to maintain standard inventory of lab materials
- Degree in physics, electronics, electrical engineering, optics, or related field is preferred
