Basin Disposal Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Route Manager to join our Pasco team. The Route Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our waste collection routes, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, and managing a team of drivers and support staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and safety. Key Responsibilities
Route Planning and Optimization:
Develop and maintain efficient waste collection routes.
Analyze and adjust routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Utilize route planning software and tools to optimize route performance.
Team Management:
Supervise, train, and evaluate drivers and support staff.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, safety protocols, and performance expectations.
Address and resolve employee concerns and performance issues in a timely manner.
Operations Management:
Monitor daily operations to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are well-maintained and operational.
Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and procedures.
Customer Service:
Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Maintain positive relationships with customers and communities served.
Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and service quality.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and submit regular reports on route performance, fuel consumption, and other operational metrics.
Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to waste collection and transportation.
Promote a culture of safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or waste management.
Prior supervisory or management experience required.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in route planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
Certifications:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to unpleasant odors and outdoor weather.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and driving.
