Bass Pro is Hiring a Retail Field Communications Manager Near Springfield, MO

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Retail Field Communication Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing retail communications, initiatives, programs, and projects, enhancing, and maintaining the task management system, and keeping store associates up to date with brand, promotions, product information, and initiatives to both employees and customers. Required to coordinate, create, edit, proof, and deliver content to retail locations and deliver engaging messages to retail associates using various communication formats to provide timely and effective communication. Works collaboratively across the organization to manage two-way retail communication for open and effective information flow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage ongoing daily, weekly, and monthly store and regional communications, including, but not limited to, the company intranet, the task management system, contents of the weekly retail communications email and weekly operations updates. This position will act as the "gatekeeper" of communications to the field, edit materials as appropriate, and ensure alignment with departmental guidelines and compliance with communication policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the retail task management system and delivery of task communication to all stores. Works as the liaison with all business units to ensure proper content to ensure consistent execution from all stores. Provides productivity tracking related to task completion and compliance reporting. Manages the vendor partnership, system set up and maintenance, and any user generated Service Desk Tickets to assure resolutions are timely. Documents and incorporates any system changes into future training materials.
  • Manage content and design of the Retail Operations intranet site to allow for a user-friendly experience. Work with retail business partners on content and effective delivery of information. Work with the Regional and store teams to ensure the information meets the needs of the field and provides needed content and efficiency.
  • Responsible for delivery of sales training content and learning activities for our retail associates to develop product knowledge and selling skills, drive key business initiatives, product launches and overall customer engagement. This is to include working with the merchant partners on the development of scripts, presentation materials, video production, editing and distribution.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and standardization for communication and task flow to the Regional and Retail Store teams. Analyze the impact of communications and tasks on store workload and manage timing and volume in order to minimize Outfitter impact while still driving productivity and execution. Partner with field teams and corporate partners to develop and align communications strategies that can be accurately and effectively implemented by the field, providing feedback on the success of such strategies and recommendations to improve future results.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Degree:Business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience
  • Years of experience: 3-5 years. Previous Retail Experience a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Proven experience as a communication manager in a retail or similar environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with communication tools and techniques, including intranet platforms.
  • Exceptional project management and attention to detail.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal. Based upon the need of the business and current projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly: Computer Work, Walking, Sitting, Standing

Occasionally: Lifting up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within the general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
