Role Overview

The role is a blend of traditional graphic design and artworking, as well as creative for spatial or branded environment applications. You will be working across the internal Bastion business with a strong focus on creating pitch decks and proposals.

Bastion are looking for a dynamic, eager and flexible designer who embraces creative-thinking across multiple platforms and stages of the design-process. Working alongside the Bastion marketing team, you’ll contribute to the ideation and layout of concept proposals, design commercial pitch / tender presentations, execute a range of traditional 2D graphic design (digital & print), as well as visualise spatial ideas in 2D (any 3D skills highly favourable) and produce internal marketing outputs such as social media assets. Experience in editing motion and video is highly appreciated.

The role requires flexibility and a proactive willingness to apply design-thinking across all stages of the creative process; research, strategy, concept, design, and delivery. Assisting the Creative team to visually articulate best practice ideas, working both autonomously and/or collaboratively alongside the team.

No two days at Bastion are the same! This is a full-time role Monday – Friday, we promote a flexible mix of in-office and remote working.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the creative team on projects from initial briefing, final presentation, and production / delivery
• Creating high-quality creative work for internal and external applications
• Ability to follow brand guidelines as well as interpret them for new applications
• Assisting the commercial team with laying out long-form presentations and visualising ideas
• Supporting the team to ensure that work is delivered on time and to the highest standard
• Assisting the creative department in leading up-stream creative brainstorming for experiential and commercial partnerships
• Able to work to objectives within a brief
• Deliver design assets in line with creative project WIP documentation
• Create consistent and organised design asset packs and schedules ready for production
• Assisting to deliver creative decks with strong conceptual and strategic foundations
• Attend client meetings as required

We’re after an individual with some agency or studio experience who is enthusiastic, proactive, and has a high attention to detail. You’ll need to be driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment and an active and fun team player in a wide-thinking and growing collective.

We promote you asking questions and exploring new techniques and innovative platforms. We want you to learn and evolve as a designer, this is not a generic production-line position. You take your work seriously, but not yourself is always a favourable mantra.

• At least 3 years of industry experience
• High proficiency of skill in Adobe Creative Suite
• Setting up print files to spec for production
• (correct dpi, scaling, crop marks, bleed, PMS vs CMYK, knife-lines and decal set-up)
• 3D conceptual ideation [very] favourable, as well as spatial mock-up skills in Photoshop
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to develop and deliver design work autonomously
• Demonstrated knowledge and/or an interest in the current event landscape
• Comfortable working as a team, confident to contribute in workshops and be client facing as required
• Sound communication and presentation skills
• Work should demonstrate quality concept-driven design, innovation, customer experience awareness, and passion in articulation
• Positive, can-do attitude, a willingness to go the extra mile.turning work from good to great
• Experience or willingness to operate in an agile environment, working fast and efficiently to meet multiple conflicting deadlines
