Founded in 2010, Batten McLamb Smith is a boutique medical malpractice defense firm in Raleigh with 14 lawyers that represents healthcare clients in North Carolina, South Carolina, and several other states.

Paralegal Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist attorney with all aspects of litigation from case assignment through trial
  • Draft correspondence, client reports, pleadings, and discovery documents
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and experts
  • Review and summarize depositions and other discovery documents
  • Prepare documents for attorney for hearings and trials
  • Calendaring of all deadlines, depositions, mediations, trials, etc.
  • Internet research

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate or degree and college degree
  • At least 5 years of litigation experience
  • Experience billing time required
  • Federal Court e-filing experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Must be a team player, willing to help other team members when needed as well as work independently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Pay: $59,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
