Battle Sight Technologies is Hiring a Product Development Specialist Near Dayton, OH

Job Overview:

As a Product Development Specialist at Battle Sight, you are responsible for guiding technical development of quality products for our customers. You will lead technical efforts to design, develop, and test materials and devices. This includes research conducted internally as well as defining and managing technical results in conjunction with partner organizations. Our ideal candidate has a high level of technical capability in the fields of chemistry, engineering, material science or research and development and is comfortable planning and executing hands-on research, developing plans for scaled production, and interfacing with both technical experts and contract manufacturers. Battle Sight strives for rapid innovation of solutions addressing critical warfighter needs through an agile product development process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and evaluate proof-of-concept prototypes as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Help define project technical objectives in conjunction with senior management
  • Technical writing including research proposals, documentation and procedures
  • Establish and maintain development project timelines and work plans to achieve project goals
  • Identify gaps in technical capabilities and provide possible solutions (internal / external)
  • Coordinate with suppliers and partners
  • Support scale-up efforts to move from proof-of-concept to manufacturing
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) production
  • Facilitate contract manufacturing via technical support
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibrations
  • Develop functional testing capabilities
  • Characterize new materials / devices
  • Qualify new and/or alternate raw materials for existing formulations
  • Accomplish strategic objectives by executing multiple concurrent project activities

Product Development Specialist Qualifications / Skills:

  • Proven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environment
  • Ability to design and execute an experimental test plan to validate performance
  • Complex problem solving/troubleshooting through a combination of acquired knowledge and hands-on experimentation
  • Experience working on development projects with a small team
  • Proficient in laboratory testing methods and equipment

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Product, Process Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Experience in government and/or defense R&D projects preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
