Baxter Health is Hiring a Surgery Coordinator - Baxter Regional Outpatient Surgery Center Near Mountain Home, AR

SUMMARY: The Surgery Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adequate preparation for surgery, to include, but not limited to, scheduling all patient appointments and surgeries, ensuring patients receive appointment reminders, prepare the facility by ensuring all necessary equipment is scheduled and in the correct room, continually maintaining surgical inventory, ensuring all pre-surgery paperwork is completed in time for the patient’s surgery, managing all surgical documents to include gathering and inputting patient information, and entering all post-surgery data, and manage all incoming/outgoing surgery desk calls and communications and providing back up support to front desk as needed.

BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards as they appear in Healthstream Policy Manager.

Required to work with the Director regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Outpatient Surgery Center.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Minimum two years’ experience in a medical office setting required, surgery scheduling experience a plus.

Other: Knowledge of medical terminology required. Advance knowledge of computer systems required. Excellent organization, time-management, interpersonal and customer service skills required. Able to work independently and follow through on projects. Ability to understand written and oral instructions and work well with others.

Ability to regularly stand and walk, occasionally bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity with or without correction. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.

This is a position in an outpatient office setting open 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 6:00 am to close.
