Overview: As a Service Project Manager at Baxter Mechanical, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This position combines technical expertise with sales acumen and project management skills to effectively engage with clients, understand their needs, and propose tailored solutions. You will be responsible for drafting proposals and bids, actively interacting with clients, and proactively seeking new business opportunities to expand Baxter Mechanical's service portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal/Bid Development:

  • Collaborate with the sales team and technical experts to understand client requirements and develop comprehensive proposals and bids.
  • Utilize knowledge of Baxter Mechanical's service offerings and capabilities to customize proposals that address client needs and preferences.
  • Prepare detailed bid documents, including scope of work, technical specifications, pricing structures, and contractual terms.
  • Review and refine proposals to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with company standards and client expectations.

Client Interaction:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships through regular communication and engagement.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to assess their needs, challenges, and goals related to mechanical services.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to clients, demonstrating the value proposition of Baxter Mechanical's solutions.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Business Development:

  • Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive offerings, leveraging insights to inform business development strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities, tracking progress and outcomes in Baxter Mechanical's CRM system.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the execution of projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate internal resources, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address issues and minimize disruptions.
  • Regularly communicate with clients to provide project updates, address concerns, and solicit feedback to ensure their satisfaction.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to mechanical services and project management.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and enhanced service offerings to drive continuous growth and innovation.
  • Participate in training, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering or related is preferred. Equivalent experience in the mechanical contracting industry will also be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in HVAC/Mechanical Contracting or related field.
  • Proven experience in service sales, project management, or a technical field, preferably in the mechanical services industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, and related equipment and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with team members in both the office and in the field.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel the Kansas City metro area and surrounding area as needed to meet with clients and oversee project sites.
