Job Summary: We are currently seeking a People & Culture Coordinator to enhance our team. This crucial position plays a vital role in supporting our operations and administrative tasks related to our people and culture initiatives, serving as a key liaison between management and our diverse workforce. An ideal candidate for this position will be bilingual in Spanish and English, facilitating clear and effective communication across our multicultural team. This position adheres to California's salary requirements; specific details are available upon request.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively support the day-to-day operations and tasks related to people and culture initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to our People & Culture team, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Accurately maintain and update employee records in digital and physical formats.
- Organize and coordinate people and culture projects (e.g., meetings, training, surveys), including taking detailed minutes.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll by supplying necessary data (e.g., absences, bonuses, leaves).
- Prepare documentation and compile reports related to people and culture activities (e.g., recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations).
- Facilitate communication with candidates and organize interviews, contributing to a positive recruitment experience.
- Conduct orientations for new hires to ensure a seamless integration into the company culture.
- Help employees understand and adhere to our people and culture policies and procedures, maintaining compliance and awareness.
- Provide bilingual support, translating documents and conveying policies to Spanish-speaking employees, thus ensuring an inclusive workplace.
- Assist with the benefits program, including renewals and enrollments, aiding employees in navigating their benefits effectively.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns promptly, and when necessary, implement appropriate actions to maintain a positive work environment.
- Offer administrative support across the People & Culture department and assist other departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-focused attitude.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a role focused on people, culture, or a similar field, showing a solid understanding of operational and administrative practices.
- Proficiency in using HR software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a special emphasis on confidentiality.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
- Knowledge of California labor laws and best practices in people and culture management.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Working Conditions
- This role is based in Gardena, CA, with occasional travel required to other company locations in Northern CA and Arizona.
- Standard office hours apply, with the possibility of overtime when necessary.
- The position may involve long periods of standing or sitting.
