Clubhouse Landscape Foreman OPPORTUNITY AT BAY COLONY GOLF CLUB

SUMMARY:

The Clubhouse Landscape Foreman position is responsible for the presentation and maintenance of the landscape pallet around the Bay Colony Golf Club clubhouse, parking lot, practice center, and on-course comfort stations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Monitoring irrigation needs in turf and ornamental plants.
• Planning and executing a weekly and monthly maintenance plan to ensure all ornamental plants are presented in a manner commensurate with high-end golf club expectations.
• With assistance from golf maintenance team members, keep all hedges trimmed and free of weeds.
• Inspect plant material for insect, disease, and fertility issues and work with leadership staff to resolve.
• Inspect ground coverings such as mulch and pine straw to ensure proper year-round coverage.

A successful candidate will need to be a self-starter who can efficiently plan and execute their day independently and without supervision. They should also be able to work and communicate efficiently with the leadership team and other departments. A successful candidate will always represent Bay Colony Golf Club in a mature and professional manner and present themselves each day as such.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:

Occasionally use different walk and riding mowers, trimmers, sprayers, and other typical golf course maintenance equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a self-starter that has the proven ability to multitask and consistently maximize efficiency.
• Must be able to effectively work with other managers as well as motivate team members.
• Ability to work some weekends and holidays.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a valid Florida pesticide license or the ability to obtain one in the first 90 days of employment.
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations commonly associated with chemical and fertilizer applications.
• Ability to adhere to local and federal laws associated with pesticide and fertilizer use and disposal.
• Skill in the use of equipment such as mowers, sprayers, chainsaws, and a variety of powered and nonpowered hand tools

The position requires work performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions. Exposure to loud noises, vibrations, fumes, airborne particles, grease, oil, and chemicals. Active, physical work involving heavy lifting ( 50 pounds); carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking long distances, driving and operating equipment for extended periods of time. Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, clear close and distant vision. Use of ear protection, eye protection and other safety equipment.
