Title: Laboratory Billing Specialist

  Summary:

  Provide support to BayCare Laboratory Services and is responsible for responding timely and appropriately to all Laboratory billing audits and or edits. Responsible for reviewing and correcting SSI edits or other Laboratory charging issues, including manual charges, charge rejections, or suspended charges. Conduct routine audits as defined by Laboratory Leadership or Regulatory changes to ensure Laboratory is compliant with Medicare and State/Federal regulations. Secondary responsibilities include reimbursement reviews and CPT/HCPCS coding assignments for manual charges and audits. Perform other duties as assigned.

  Certification & Licensure:

  • Preferred - State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
  • Preferred - ASCP certified

  Education:

  Bachelors - Related Field; Or - High School or Equivalent

  Experience:

  • 1 year - Laboratory Related; Or - 5 years - Related experience in lieu of Bachelors.
  High School Diploma is also acceptable with 3 years of Lab Billing experience.
  • Highly Preferred CPC Coding
