**Job Summary:**
Join our dynamic BLX Corn and Soy crop efficiency team as a General Lab and Greenhouse Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting greenhouse trials, molecular biology workflows, and the development of in-vitro assays to study plant-microbe interactions. Your contributions will directly impact the advancement of agriculturally relevant crops like corn and soybeans.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide general assistance in greenhouse trials, including plant care, fertilization treatments, measurements, and plant harvesting.
- Assist in standard molecular biology workflows such as DNA extraction and quantification.
- Collaborate on designing and implementing in-vitro assays for studying beneficial microbes.
- Aid in developing protocols for evaluating plant-microbe interactions.
- Ensure compliance with lab safety regulations.
- Maintain microbiological lab equipment and perform basic maintenance.
- Contribute to improving microbiology functional platforms through collaboration with R&D teams.
- Prepare oral and written reports/presentations on assay results for stakeholders.
- Safeguard intellectual property.
**Skills:**
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in plant physiology, microbiology, or molecular biology.
- Experience in beneficial plant-microbe interactions, soil science, soil microbiology, or related fields.
- Strong scientific background in Biologics or related disciplines with interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
**Qualifications:**
- B.S. degree in a relevant field such as plant physiology, microbiology, or molecular biology.
