Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join their innovative team. This position requires an individual with a strong background in optimization and operational research to develop and write algorithms for various logistics functions. The ideal candidate will be adept at coding independently, utilizing Python or other analytical tools, without relying on solvers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement optimization algorithms
- Independently code and solve complex problems using Python or other analytical tools
- Apply machine learning techniques to create and refine models
- Conduct thorough testing and tuning of algorithms to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy data science solutions.
Requirements:
- PhD in Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in optimization and operational research.
- Strong programming skills in Python or other relevant analytical tools.
- Solid understanding of machine learning, including experience in modeling, testing, and tuning.
- Ability to work independently and develop solutions without the need for solvers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
