Position Title: Application Engineer - ADABAS / COBOL

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire

Location: On-site, East Chicago, IN 46312

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented Application Engineer to join our team in East Chicago, IN. This role is pivotal in supporting our manufacturing systems, focusing on ADABAS, Mainframe COBOL/DB2 applications, and associated subsystems. Please note that we are unable to engage with third parties or vendors for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigate and resolve issues within manufacturing applications and subsystems

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications

Develop, test, implement, and maintain applications using ADABAS/Natural, COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL/JES3

Adhere to custom development and SDLC processes

Utilize Microsoft Office 365 Apps for documentation and communication purposes

Track and manage incidents through change management software

Requirements:

Must Haves:

5 years of experience with ADABAS/Natural for Windows

5 years of experience in COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL/JES3

Prior experience with custom development and SDLC processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, MS Access, Visio)

Experience with incident tracking in change management software

Plusses:

Experience in .NET Development

Background in the manufacturing industry
