GENERAL SUMMARY: Summary:
Responsible for developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and creating job aides in the User Adoption platform for Infor Cloud Suite. Prepares financial statements in Accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices for the hospital and other entities. Leads and manages the work of the General Ledger team, and Accounts Payable team,addressing general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and oversight, Uniform Guidance preparation and audits, FEMA, ARPA and HRSA submissions, FEMA, ARPA and HRSA audits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Reviews month end statements for Hospital and related corporations and the accompanying narratives. Oversees the preparation of the financial statement Board package after Vice President and CFO approval within 24 hours. Researches and makes necessary corrections for revenue close within 3 working days of month end. Completes comprehensive data analysis, flux analysis, documents findings and resolutions.
  • Researches and makes necessary corrections for Other Operating Revenue and expenses. Actively reviews to comparison periods, both prior year’s actual and budget. Documents findings and resolutions. Reviews and approves journal entries meeting required deadlines.
  • Updates end user training materials for Infor system including job aides and tip sheets. Leads end user training sessions for new colleagues.
  • Oversees preparation of 1099s at year- end. Responsible for ensuring the IRS filing is timely. Reviews and approves weekly check run prior to payments being released. Works with AP team to ensure transition from paper checks to ACH payment or wire payment within the Infor system.
  • Supports the coordination of activities between Accounts Payable and Resource Management and validates the Supply Chain accrual is accurate each month. Ensures the Accounts Payable team is complying with vendor sanction checking and adhering to the signature authority matrix. Ensures Accounts Payable team optimizes vendor discounts where appropriate.
  • Completes annual evaluations for staff, including assisting with cross-training staff and assisting staff with identifying 90- day process improvement goals.
  • Coordinates completion of the auditors’ Client Assistance schedule with general ledger and accounts payable staff. This list should be 85% complete prior to the arrival of auditors for their June 30th review.
  • Oversees the completion of the Uniform Guidance Audit in the agreed to timeframe with external auditors.
  • Assures all bank reconciliations and cash schedules are completed timely and correcting entries are posted before month end close.
  • Approves wire transfers including but not limited to 401k, 457, 403b, and bond payments
  • Reviews account reconciliations, pre-paid accounts, and investment activity to ensure accurate balances are reported on the financial statements.
  • Collaborates with Patient Financial Services to identify outstanding deposits and reconciling items.
  • Oversees escheatment process to ensure compliance.
  • Assures proper records are maintained for fixed assets.
  • All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL:
  • Education Bachelor Degree Accounting
  • Credential Certified Public Accountant Certified Public or Management Accountant (CPA or CMA)
EXPERIENCE:Required: 10 years of financial experience including general ledger and GAAP financial reporting with financial supervisory experience
