Baylor Careers is Hiring an Associate Director for Academic Support Near Waco, TX

What We Are Looking For

The Associate Director plays a pivotal role in the success of our academic support programs within the CASE department. This position involves supervising key program managers and specialists, identifying at-risk students, implementing proactive strategies to enhance academic engagement, and utilizing data-driven approaches for effective intervention. The Associate Director is also responsible for coordinating with CASE staff to generate annual assessment reports and contributing to the planning of departmental events.

A Master's Degree, three years of relevant experience and an active Christian faith are required. Five years of relevant work experience are preferred.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Work Experience:

  • Three to five years experience working with students in higher education, particularly in the area of student success. 
  • Experience in supplemental instruction and/or tutoring. 
  • Experience managing software applications. 
  • Experience implementing and creating strategies to promote student success. 
  • Experience supervising full-time employees. 

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the Supplemental Instruction Program Manager, Tutoring Program Manager, PreLaw Program Manager, and the Academic Program Specialist.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Proactively identify common academic challenges and create systemic changes to promote student success for all students. 
  • Be attuned to the challenges faced by course repeaters and assist with an individualized approach to address their needs. 
  • Connect at-risk students with appropriate academic support resources.
  • Utilize early alerts and collaborate with departmental resources to provide timely intervention for those students.
  • Identify and implement new strategies to increase student engagement with academic resources and support programs.
  • Assist with technical applications and systems to effectively collect, analyze, and interpret data for decision-making and intervention.
  • Coordinate departmental annual assessment efforts. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
