Baymar is seeking an Associate Engineer in Tucson (AZ). New graduates encouraged to apply!

This is a contract-to-hire position that will convert to full-time after a 90-day probation period.

As part of our tight-knit team, you will play a crucial role in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems for our clients. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects in a supportive environment where attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, and communication are highly valued.

This is a remote position with travel to client sites in Tucson dependent on project needs. Expect to be on site approximately 1-2 days per week. A robust home office setup is help

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with people from quality, operations, manufacturing, and R&D to execute engineering changes within medical device quality systems.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Deliver clear and detailed technical presentations, including design reviews, to key project stakeholders.
• Write and execute verification and validation protocols and reports, using DoE when appropriate.
• Communicate frequently with clients, providing updates on project progress and technical details.
• Evaluate and determine root causes and resulting dispositions for non-conforming products.
• Interact and communicate effectively with the Baymar team and external clients/partners.
• Ensure accuracy and quality by maintaining a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of the work.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Associate degree in Engineering (or related field) and 2 years of experience in a relevant role; or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Software Suite.
• Proven ability to contribute to projects, take initiative, and drive them to successful completion.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Bonus Points for any of the following:

• Experience with SolidWorks PLM for product lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with GD&T and/or conducting stack-up analyses.
• Electrical engineering experience (formal or informal).
• Medical device experience or experience with quality systems (ISO 13485)
• Data and statistical analysis.

Position Type: Salaried and exempt

Schedule: This is a first shift position, coinciding with normal operating hours of Monday to Friday on a weekly basis.

Work Environment: As Baymar Solutions is an organization that operates in a highly regulated environment, employees must complete internal or customer training promptly as a requirement to continue employment and satisfy FDA guidelines.

Physical Demands: Ability to operate a personal computer and communicate via telephone and/or video meeting technology; give oral presentations. Occasional domestic travel to client or supplier sites may be requested by leadership.

These procedures are detailed in the employee handbook and prospective employees are required to sign an Intellectual Property Agreements and Mutual NDA upon offer acceptance. Responsible usage of security devices and technology to access physical business premises.
