Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for a Business Intelligence Developerto support our work with a renowned federal health agency that plays a crucial role in advancing the field of public health by providing free access to biomedical literature and genomic data worldwide. We are looking for full-time candidates currently residing in the United States. This position is available for remote/hybrid work.
Position Description
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into insights that drive business decisions. You will use your expertise in visualization platforms to create and maintain business intelligence solutions. Job Description:
Design, develop, operationalize, and maintain a scalable architecture for organization-wide data sets, including normalizing data for time periods and across various sources to meet dashboarding needs. You will serve as a subject matter expert in the development of data visualization to produce efficiency in replication of existing reports while also helping to ideate a future state for enhanced decision making.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design, enhance, and manage business intelligence solutions built on the Power BI platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, identify existing processes and data sources, and provide recommendations
  • Create visualizations and reports; meet customer expectations and support them in their decision-making processes
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer with expertise in Microsoft Analytics Technologies Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, SAP BI)
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Analyze requirements or existing systems, and make recommendations on designing, modeling, or organizing new database schemas to support visualizations
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5 years experience with analytics strategy and architecture
  • 3 years experience in Power BI development on an enterprise-level
  • Experience developing with KPIs, executive reporting, access controls with Power BI roles
  • Operationalization of Power BI experience across an enterprise is critical
Target salary range is $80,000 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
