The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in commercial litigation, with a focus on New York practice and construction law. This role requires the ability to manage a personal caseload, conduct extensive motion practice, and litigate claims against city agencies and commercial breach of contract claims. Duties:Manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients.Develop agreements, negotiate contracts, and settle claims.Advocate for clients in court, including oral advocacy and litigating claims.Conduct extensive motion practice and manage court filings.Litigate claims against city agencies and handle commercial breach of contract claims.Conduct legal research and provide informed legal advice to clients.Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and contracts.Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing legal counsel.Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm.Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to commercial litigation and construction law. Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of New York and in good standing.Detailed knowledge of CPLR (Civil Practice Law and Rules).10 years of experience in commercial litigation.Relevant experience in construction law is a plus.Proven ability to manage own caseload and work independently.Excellent contract negotiation, writing, and deposition skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions.High ethical standards and professional integrity.
