Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm in Agoura Hills, CA, is seeking a Workers Compensation Defense Associate Attorney to focus on the defense of all aspects of workers' compensation claims under California law. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of WCAB litigation, maintain consistent communication with client representatives, prepare Initial Defense Analyses (IDAs), assess claim exposure, conduct depositions and QME evaluations, appear for hearings and trials before the WCAB, and bring claims to prompt, cost-effective resolutions. Membership in the California State Bar in good standing is required. Duties:Focus on the defense of all aspects of workers' compensation claims under California law.Manage all aspects of WCAB litigation.Maintain consistent communication with client representatives.Prepare Initial Defense Analyses (IDAs) for new case files.Assess claim exposure.Conduct depositions of applicants, percipient witnesses, and expert witnesses.Conduct QME evaluations.Appear for hearings and trials before the WCAB.Bring claims to prompt, cost-effective resolutions. Requirements:Member of the California State Bar in good standing.Ability to meet minimum billable hours requirement of 190 hours per month / 2280 hours per year.Ability to work in a paperless environment.Prior professional experience as a California workers' compensation attorney (defense side highly preferred).Proficiency in MerusCase legal practice management software.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook desired. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.California State Bar license in good standing. Certifications:California State Bar license in good standing.
