BCRC is Hiring a Program Specialist Near Aliquippa, PA

We have an exciting opportunity for a Program Specialist with our WIN Services program at BCRC. This is a community integration program that supports individuals as they work towards independent living and employment.

Employment and Community Supports consists of services designed to assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, and improving the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings. Services are provided at a staff to client ratio of 1:1, or in a small group opportunity that has a staff to client ratio of greater than 1:1 and less than 1:3 ratios, depending on the level of individualized support and individual chooses.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in: Special Education, Psychology, Public Health, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Audiology, Occupation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or other Human Service field plus one year working with persons with disabilities.

As a Program Specialist you will provide case management, job coaching and habilitation functions at BCRC facility and community work sites as participants seek to develop life skills that foster independence and explore employment. This includes overseeing program planning, goal planning, determining client disciplinary actions, initiating behavior plans, and acting as a liaison between community agencies, parents and employers. Job coaching duties include: providing skill training to clients, learning and working a variety of community jobs, maintaining accurate records, writing task/job analysis, and promoting worker independence and self-help skills.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Oversees implementation and adherence to client ISP and outcomes. Initiates goal plans and behavior plans designed to achieve client outcomes.
  • Oversees client vocational programming. Initiates goal plans and behavior plans preparing client for competitive employment.
  • Trains clients in new job skills, independence skills, problem solving skills and decision making necessary for competitive employment.
  • Expedites follow-up on client related issues in a timely manner.
  • Trains clients in habilitation, job skills, independence skills, problem solving skills and decision making necessary to achieve individual outcomes.
  • Assures a positive relationship with community employers by refraining from discussing or participating in the inner workings of other businesses or agencies.
  • Participates in goal planning with client and job coach as scheduled.
  • Completes all necessary reports and records in an accurate and timely manner including job analyses, training plans, client evaluations and other reports as needed.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with clients and their families, coworkers, outside agencies and community employers.
  • Meets with Program Manager and Employment Specialists as scheduled to plan client program toward competitive employment.
  • Meets with Program Manager for monthly reviews.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings or weekends as assigned. Will see client at work site and work according to client's schedule.
  • Provides follow up to clients in competitive employment.
  • Transports clients in personal and company vehicles as needed.
