JOB SUMMARY:
The VP/GM for Infusion Solutions platform reports to the business unit President of Medication Management Solutions (MMS) and is part of the MMS Worldwide Leadership Team. The VP/GM oversees the general management of the global infusion business and generates over $1B in global revenue.
The VP/GM Infusion Solutions is responsible for creating and communicating the vision, strategy, commercialization strategies, ensuring compliance and quality of the products within the portfolio in a heavy regulated environment, and scale-up of new business opportunities. The VP/GM also manages the global financial performance and oversees portfolio planning, technology and product development, talent management, P&L management, and cross functional/matrix leadership across the organizations that support the platform. This role will work closely with Regional Leaders and their commercial teams to ensure a consistent strategy execution and implementation to deliver growth expectations. They will work with the various functions that support MMS to develop value-added solution offerings for the Business Unit's portfolio, and also build strong relationships with customers, strategic partners, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
This role is based in San Diego.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gaining Market Share
Develops and implements competitive strategies based on thorough competitive intelligence and market analysis. Drives understanding of Global customer knowledge and needs across the platform. This includes identifying and addressing market barriers, creative and new ways of meeting the needs of our customers, influencing key stakeholders, leveraging KOL and strategic partnerships.
Patient Safety
Ensures all internal resources understand that there is a patient at the end of each product to ensure product safety, compliance, and reliability are at the core of our infusion products. Ensures regulatory and remediation compliance through effective cross functional processes and building a culture around safety, compliance. and product quality.
Product Roadmaps and Strategic Plan
Develops annual and multi-generational product roadmaps, strategic plans and release planning in conjunction and consultation with R&D and integrated supply chain to create robust new product pipeline. Oversees product development and operational direction for the platform.
Business Transformation
Responsible for executing a strategy that transforms the business from a portfolio of independent products to an integrated, solutions-oriented provider to our customers. This transformation will require strong collaboration with cross BU stakeholders, regional business and functional leaders.
Global Product Success
Responsible for the success of all infusion products in all global markets. Works with regional marketing groups on launch planning, sales tools, public policy, advertising and trade shows. Drives growth through innovation, quality, commercial strategies, forecasting and pricing.
Competitive Strategies
Develops and executes competitive strategies based on thorough competitive intelligence and market analysis. Drives understanding of Global customer knowledge and needs around the product/platform area.
Financial Goals and Expense Budgets
Responsible for the strategic and financial performance of the platform areas. Leads annual planning process to define and communicate global strategic, oversees product development and operational direction for the product/platform areas, and influences multifunctional resources to accomplish business objectives.
Collaboration and Followership
Effectively partners and collaborates with regional business leaders, R&D, Quality, Operations, and other functions to ensure development and execution of marketing and product strategy aligned with compliance and quality objectives. Ensures compliance with BD systems and processes as well as FDA requirements. E.g., S&OP, Global Product Development system, Quality/Regulatory, life cycle management Sustaining Engineering of products.
Analytical Methods
Promotes and utilizes analytical methods to establish/evaluate all marketing programs including analysis and recommendations of new strategic opportunities. Maintains, interprets and applies key market data. Leading teams through effective problem solving and continuous improvement.
Relationships
Identifies and maintains strong relationship with key opinion leaders, agency connections such as within the FDA, customers, professional associations, and advisory boards. Establishes/builds relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Talent Management
Responsible for talent management and development within direct reporting lines and core team engagement and collaboration. Ensures required resource and organizational capabilities are in place to successfully execute strategies. Leads improvements in people, processes, and systems as needed to ensure an efficient and effective organization.
Communication
Responsible for routine communication forums and channels to the organization regarding the Pharmacy Automation business, progress towards objectives, and global/regional sales and financial performance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
BA/BS. Degree Required; Advanced Degree (e.g., MBA) preferred?
EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive marketing, commercial and general management leadership experience in the infusion, medical device or adjacent areas, with a minimum of 8 years demonstrated effective P&L and budget management for a global business.
  • Proven history in commercialization and compliance excellence and leadership in a cross functional, highly matrix environment for large global business.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Established foundation of general management and leadership credibility based on integrity, patient safety and a history of achievement in delivering and influencing business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement commercial and market shaping strategies, convert these into tactical marketing plans and deliver results.
  • Creative out of the box thinker who is intellectually curious and thrives on success.
  • Strong leadership presence with ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to persuade others of the course of action, facilitate successful project implementation and effective implementation.
  • Proven track record of developing others. Provides situational coaching and feedback. Takes action to assure organizational capabilities are in place to achieve strategy and build succession candidates.

Salary Range Information
$274,300.00 - $493,700.00 USD Annual
