Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Operations Manager will oversee the daily production operations of a manufacturing facility and ensure all safety procedures are followed, and production goals are met. Design, implement and administer manufacturing processes and manage a technical staff to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled. This role will lead and manage all manufacturing staff, including overseeing day to day activities, development and growth, and performance management
Essential Responsibilities For This Role
Plan, organize and direct the SMT and Assembly manufacturing of the plant which ensure the most effective return on assets and production goals (schedule, quality, and safety).
Manages and develops a technical team and Direct labor (SMT, Assy, Facilities, and Materials). to coordinate activities to successfully manufacture high-mix, low-to-medium-volume printed circuit board assemblies, higher level assemblies, and box build assemblies.
Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of labor, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Beacon Embeddedworks strategic initiatives.
Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments.
Assist with and manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff to lead all employees within the plant
Establish working relationships with customers and internal managers
Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
Lead local community relations activities to promote Beacon Embeddedworks brand
Acts as site disaster recovery point person

Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field
10 years of experience in an electronics (SMT) manufacturing environment and with 5 years of managerial experience OR combination of equivalent education and experience
Knowledge ability to lead lean manufacturing or six sigma principles and practice
Knowledge of APICS principles as it applies to planning activities
Ability to lead local site while connecting with overall Beacon Embeddedworks culture and organization
Ability to organize and plan manufacturing layouts and processes to drive efficiency improvements
Proficiency in financial matters to meet the budget requirements of the plant
Ability to motivate, reward and engage leaders to achieve or exceed production goal
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, on-site position
Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, but does allow for some flexibility
It may be necessary to work more than 40 hours per week at times to produce the required results
