Beacon Hill is Hiring a Communications Specialist - $24/hr-$26/hr Near Washington, DC

Our client, a non-profit organization, is seeking a temporary Communications Specialist to support their team in Washington, DC!

About the Job:

  • Develop innovative communication strategies to achieve strategic goals.
  • Create various written materials, such as press releases, advisories, op-eds, letters to the editor, and fact sheets.
  • Regularly update press lists and other communication tools as necessary.
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters, TV producers, and other key news figures.
  • Respond swiftly and creatively to breaking news events.
  • Train and brief employees to serve as spokespeople and provide media advice during project planning meetings.

About You:

  • 3 years of communications experience is required.
  • Experience with an environmental or climate change-based organization is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with social media and tech savviness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while building strong professional relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive, organized approach and strong critical thinking.

About the Position:

  • $24/hr-$26/hr
  • Temporary for ~5 months.
  • Washington, D.C.
