Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our client a school law and public law firm, meaning they represent Texas public schools and other Texas governmental entities. They handle all legal matters for public school districts and governmental entities throughout Texas, including in the areas of school law, student issues, Texas Open Meetings, Texas Public Information Act, civil litigation, public finance, election law, real estate, employment law, construction law, and procurement. They also do a substantial amount of marketing and business development events; therefore, marketing experience/skill is a plus. We are currently looking for a Litigation Paralegal in our Austin office. . The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is personable, and is highly motivated to assist the team. Responsibilities:
Schedule and calendar deadlines;
Prepare discovery responses;
Draft correspondence and other routine legal documents;
Prepare exhibit binders and hearing notebooks;
Ability to file legal documents, including pleadings via E-Filing;
Update case management system;
Submit payment requests for case invoices;
Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses;
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate required
3 years of litigation or other relevant experience
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal skills
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
Proficient scheduling and calendar management
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects with attention to detail and commitment to high quality
Proficiency in Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Familiarity or willingness to learn Netdocs and Basecamp document/project management systems
