Seeking a Senior Accountant to join a leading real estate firm in Cleveland, Ohio, known for its commitment to excellence and innovation in property management and development. We specialize in managing a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties.

Position Summary:As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our real estate portfolio. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing budgets, overseeing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, excellent analytic skills, and a commitment to accuracy and detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for real estate entities.
• Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, loan statements, and inter-company transactions.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing variance analysis and financial insights.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, including property tax, income tax, and sales tax.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and tax reviews.
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
• Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for investors and lenders.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in real estate accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Lacerte preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
