Beacon of Hope is Hiring a Dispensary Nurse (LPN) Near Baltimore, MD

Our team of healthcare professionals provide an expanded scope of care for patients enrolled in our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This holistic, person-centered approach addresses the core of the problem and the full impact of substance use in their lives.

We are looking for a Dispensary Nurse (LPN) who has at least minimally three years of experience. We are looking for someone who can work full-time, has the ability to start at 5:00 am, and work some rotating weekends.

The Dispensing LPN works under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Program Director/Nurse Practitioner. This individual maintains professional standards and follows the treatment policies of the organization and federal and state laws and regulations.

The Dispensing LPN is required to administer Methadone as ordered by the Medical Director and to maintain accurate accounting of all medication received (from supplier) and dispensed (to the patient). The Dispensing LPN is responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, SAMHSA, and State (MDH).

The Dispensing LPN will dedicate a minimum of 90 percent of regularly scheduled work hours to activities directly related to the administration of Methadone. The remaining 10 percent of regularly scheduled work hours will be dedicated to other activities as assigned by the Medical Director or Program Director, such as completing drug and alcohol assessments and nursing assessments.

The Dispensing LPN may be responsible for urine collection and processing, reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians and the completion of all forms involved in these procedures. Participates in Performance Quality Improvement. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the intake of new patients.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • The Dispensing LPN will be a licensed LPN in the State of Maryland.
  • The Dispensing LPN will have had training or experience treating patients with an opiate addiction.
  • Must complete State and FBI background checks. Must also have current BLS.

Requirements:

  • Must be dependable, motivated, and proficient in the use of computers.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Licensed LPN in the State of Maryland.

Work hours:

5:00 am - 2:00 pm

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
