General Statement of Duties:

The Assistant Director of Day Services under the direction of the Director of Day and Employment Services coordinates the delivery of comprehensive services and supports for persons with disabilities and other populations. These primarily include day services and supports but may include other types of services as assigned. The Assistant Director supervises day services managers, who utilize a person-centered focus to improve the quality of life for each person served in a way that has meaning to that individual, as well as to ensure compliance with various regulations and requirements.

Services provided must meet licensing standards and conform to the agency's values, performance standards, policies and procedures.

Supervises:

Day Services Team Lead

May supervise Direct Support Professionals staff as needed

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitors to ensure programs are fully staffed, high quality services are delivered, proper documentation is completed of services provided and required standards are met such as licensing standards.
  • Regularly visits each program to develop a full awareness of consumer needs, staff issues and concerns and to review the services provided.
  • Reviews financial reports to ensure operations are within budget
  • Communicates family complaints to the Director of Day and Employment Services
  • Ensures policies and procedures are properly implemented. Ensures manuals are updated and revised periodically at the day programs.
  • Reviews the ISP; ensures quality goals are developed in line with consumer outcomes and strategies.
  • Ensures EHRs are completed timely per Medicaid compliance standards.
  • Applies an understanding of delivering care in a fee for service environment and ensures managers adhere to those requirements.
  • Reviews time cards of all direct reports every 3 day and approves on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Cooperates with Enable, Inc. and (DHS) Department of Human Services staff during any inspection or investigation

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Four (4) years’ overall experience working with individuals with disabilities in a day services setting or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ management experience with at least 1 year of supervising other supervisors in a day services setting
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement strategies to improve the quality of services and effectively implement services
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Experience in a fee-for-service setting
