PINK HOUSE POSITION PURPOSE: To create and maintain a positive, stimulating environment that promotes a culture of learning and fosters school readiness in the community. Establish objectives for all lessons. Assess family needs and provide developmentally appropriate information, guidance, and support to parents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist in planning, creating, and implementing a dynamic preschool classroom environment conductive to learning to support the physical, social, and emotional development of children and families.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate early childhood play-based activities for children and families birth through 5 years to encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving.
  • Model appropriate parent-child interaction and positive parenting techniques.
  • Select materials and activities appropriate for the program.
  • Collaborate with team to develop lesson plans and share best practices to provide comprehensive services to the children and parents being served.
  • Assist in completing and maintaining all documentation and essential records as required by the program in a timely and comprehensive manner.
  • Represent the District's Traveling Preschool Bus program at community events supporting children and parents.
  • Assist in coordinating and promoting site visit locations in the community.
  • Advocate for parents in accessing resources and support services as needed.
  • Assist with child developmental screenings.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Coordinator of Early Childhood, Chief Instructional Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates Degree or College degree in early childhood education or a related field of study preferred.
  • Demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge about what promotes optimal parent-child interaction and birth - five child development.
  • Become qualified to administer developmental screenings.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class B or higher (CDL) to operate a school bus.
EXPERIENCE :
  • Minimum of three years supervised experience working with young children and their parents.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
