Beaufort County South Carolina is Hiring a HVAC Maintenance Technician Near Beaufort, SC
- Performs master level inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of applicable building structures and/or systems, which may include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or other applicable items.
- Estimates the cost of repairs; determines what supplies and equipment are necessary.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities in assigned HVAC area of responsibility to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Repairs and replaces components such as compressors, pumps, valves, exhaust fans, blowers, and electronic controls.
- Repairs leaks on copper lines with Oxy/Acetylene torches.
- Services and repairs water chillers, walk-in coolers, freezers, and hot water domestic boilers; replaces filters.
- Addresses issues dealing with geothermal water loop systems.
- Performs site inspections to ensure project and operational compliance with internal and external safety regulations.
- Completes system change-outs and/or parts replacements.
- Monitors and maintains materials, supplies, equipment, and/or other applicable inventory items in assigned area of responsibility; initiates the procurement of replacement items.
- Coordinates and monitors the work of assigned staff and contractors on assigned projects.
- Responds to after hour emergencies while on on-call status, addresses HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, and carpentry problems.
- Works during disasters if needed; classified as essential personnel.
- Enters work requests; updates via emails/phones.
- Contacts vendors to locate and order parts.
- Checks status of building (s) that are on automated systems during morning, lunch, and late afternoon times; identifies and addresses problems found.
- Coordinates with other departments to perform duties; updates those departments as needed.
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature or level.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Four (4) years of related maintenance and equipment operation work experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Valid driver’s license
- Universal EPA License for handling freon
- HVAC Certification
- 410 A Certification
- Technical training in installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and refrigerant systems and associated equipment.
