· Knowledge of medical terminology required

Job Summary: The Scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures/treatments from physician offices and schedules the procedure/treatment according to established guidelines. The Scheduler will be responsible for receiving required documents such as physician orders, H&P’s, lab results, etc. and building case charts. Duties may involve making appointments, canceling appointments, and re-scheduling appointments. Appointments will be scheduled for the following areas: OR (surgery), GI lab, Cath Lab, and the infusion center. The scheduler is responsible for maintaining patient insurance, demographic information, and at times collecting payment. He/She must also maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA regulations. He/She must have the ability to interact professionally with physicians, their office staff, patients and /or patient representatives who may be in sensitive or stressful situations.
