Responsibilities for Preschool Teacher

• Create lesson plans that nurture and stimulate all domains of each child’s development
• Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
• Perform ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required
• Create a classroom environment that provides children space to learn how to play, work together and make friends
• Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers
• Collaborate with children’s families to ensure a smooth transition from home to the child care setting
• Ensure students adhere to the school’s stated rules and policies
• Provide additional assistance to students who have special needs
• Maintain an orderly classroom and handle all disturbances in accordance with the daycare guidelines

Qualifications for Preschool Teacher

• Associates in Early Childhood Education, General Education, Special Education or related field
• Able to effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities
• Creative and imaginative activity planning
• Able to demonstrate skills in conflict management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
• Reliable transportation and attendance
• Prepared to pass a state mandated background check
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 pound and in case of emergency a 40-pound child
