About the Position:

The assistant warehouse manager will be responsible for all phases of the warehouse operation including receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, safety and maintenance. These responsibilities also include helping to hire, train and write the performance review of all warehouse employees. The assistant manager will ensure the proper safety procedures and protocols are being adhered to. The assistant manager will be directly responsible to ensure all warehouse personnel are properly trained in maintaining an accurate warehouse physical inventory.

What's Expected (including but not limited to):

• Warehousing
  1. Responsible for all supervisors and employees within the warehousing and office operation.
     1. Ensuring the proper procedures are in place and adhered to for all inbound product and or components entering the plant along with controls for all outbound orders and shipments.
     2. Inventory control and management of anything entering/ leaving the facility.
        1. Ensure proper receiving practices.
  2. Establish and mandate the proper lead times for all outbound orders and shipments.
     1. Ensure warehouse team is shipping orders timely and efficiently.
     2. Monitor / enforce shipping standards, statistics, and best practices.
• Inventory
  1. The assistant warehouse manager will take an active role in creating the proper protocol for material handling that will increase our inventory accuracy while ensuring our product and components are handled, packaged, and shipped in the most effective manner.
     1. All aspects of inventory maintenance must be reviewed, revamped, documented, and rolled out to team members.
     2. Proper audits, control sheets and practices must be implemented, and training must take place weekly / quarterly.
     3. Warehouse location accuracy, FIFO, and cycle counting must be implemented prior to the role out of the WMS so the warehouse team has a clear picture of the company expectation and desired outcome
• Safety and Maintenance
  1. The assistant warehouse manager will assist the warehouse manager to ensure all aspects of maintenance and safety within the plant are properly maintained and followed.
     1. The assistant warehouse manager will help to ensure:
        1. Proper housekeeping of the facility inside and out.
        2. Participate and or give safety meetings, educate the team on requirements and standards within the plant.
• Training / Education of the warehouse team
  1. Create a map to the training of new hires along with the continued education of existing team members. A documented training log is to be created ensuring the key attributes, functions and procedures are reviewed, taught and learned.
     1. The proper time and training investment must be made in each member of the team. The desired outcome is teaching the team the importance of following procedures throughout the warehouse and material handling process. Proper inventory movement, labeling, packaging and shipment preparation are crucial aspects of warehousing and must be clearly defined in a training process that is on-going during the employment of a warehouse worker.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• HS Diploma or GED
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
• English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
• Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

• 8 years of warehouse experience
• College education in related
• 7 years managerial experience
• Must have experience with start-up facilities
• Experience working with overseas factories and facilities
