Primary Function: 

Paints surfaces of metal manufactured products by applying knowledge of surface preparation and powder coat painting techniques

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

· Sands and prepares parts for powder coat application approximately 4 hours daily

· Sprays specified amount of thickness of powder coat to products on assembly line prior to heat being introduced

· May need to regulate controls on equipment to ensure adequate amount of powder flowing

· Inspect each product as painted for quality of coating

· May operate lifting and moving devices to move materials and equipment 

· Always wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face masks and other items deemed necessary by management

· Adheres to department attendance policy

· All other duties assigned by management

Skills:

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills

· Leadership qualities and interpersonal communication skills required

· Must be able to distinguish between product manufactured, blasted and painted (i.e. a grill guard, replacement front end, back bumper, headache rack, etc.)

Qualifications:

· Ability to visually inspect product and apply appropriate amounts of powder coat product for quality finish

· Must pass respiratory fit and pulmonary function tests

· Must be able to safely operate a forklift

Physical Requirements: 

· Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)

· Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)

· Lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)

· Indoors and Outdoors

· Loud Environments

· Extreme heat or cold (weather-related)

· Wet or humid conditions (weather-related)

· Fumes from equipment or airborne particles
