A Crew Station Furnishings & Equipment Engineer, Bell V280 opportunity is available to develop aircraft systems that provide operational capability on the Future Long-Range Assault Vehicle (FLRAA), the world's most advanced tiltrotor air vehicle. The FLRAA builds on the generational successes of past Bell experimental and production tiltrotors to enable the war fighter and save lives. Applicants will have the opportunity to experience the full lifecycle of the air vehicle and develop solutions for energy attenuating seating systems, cargo hook, hoist, interior , and a variety of operational kits that provide additional capability to the aircraft. The Furnishings & Equipment Engineer is responsible for requirements definition, oversight of the design, supplier management, development and implementation of the various systems on the FLRAA aircraft. This position is located at Bell's headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX with travel to other Bell and supplier facilities. Position Responsibilities : * Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Collaboration with internal and external teams to achieve common goals. Ability to communicate across various levels of management. * Development of Crew Station Furnishings & Equipment requirements including creation of system and component level technical specifications and statement of work packages. * Oversight of the system CAD integration into the aircraft, including the creation of interface control documentation. * Management of supplier development, qualification efforts, issue resolution, and hardware delivery. * Coordination with the Government customer to manage aircraft operational kits. * System and component design, requirements management, interface management, system safety assessment, aircraft functional test plan creation and support, and management of system airworthiness. * Work closely with other teams, participating in design trade studies for air vehicle level optimization. * Support of furnishings and equipment system activities throughout the build process and the flight test program. * Provide technical direction to junior system engineers. Qualifications Education Requirements : * Bachelor's degree Mechanical, Aerospace, other Engineering discipline is required. Position Requirements : * Relevant design and/or analysis experience with aircraft structure preferably specific to furnishings and equipment. * At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred. All levels of experience will be considered. * Understanding of aircraft kitting strategy, product improvements, aircraft modifications or block upgrades. * Understanding of interface control models or drawings. * Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate and lead activities, prioritize tasks, and report status. * Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams. * Ability to work effectively within a team utilizing good interpersonal and organization skills. * A self-starter with excellent written, oral, and PC skills. * #CJ Preferred Skills and Capabilities : * Proven experience with the aerospace development cycle from requirements development through production support. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project. * Working knowledge of CATIA V5/V6. * Prior experience with Enovia or similar PLM system.
