Title: Graduation Coordinator (BHS)

FUNCTION: To develop, choreograph and coordinate the senior class’ participation during

Award’s Night ceremony and Graduation ceremony.

 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Convene, coordinate and disseminate information to the graduating class during the last senior class meeting and during graduation rehearsals.
2. Contact vendor for ceremonies flowers. Place the order for 3 flower arrangements to be delivered the afternoon of Award’s Night. Follow up with delivery confirmation of the flower arrangements as the date approaches. Submit invoice to main office secretary to create P.O. 
3. Contact Cable 8 Studios to book graduation date. Update studio the day before graduation as to if the ceremony will be held inside or outside.
4. Contact Bellingham Police Department to assign 4 officers to be on duty during graduation ceremony. Officers are requested to arrive at 5pm and stay at post until all of the guests exit.
5. Submit invoice to main office secretary to create P.O.
6. Work with the Guidance Department and main office secretaries as to how many graduates will be participating in the ceremonies for set up purposes.
7. Work with custodial staff on setting up the stage for Award’s Night and Graduation ceremonies and what equipment is needed.
8. Work with office secretaries with the development of the Graduation program. Obtaining information from the senior class and Music Department may be necessary.
9. Communicate with graduating class on the materials and outstanding obligations that they may owe before they receive their caps and gowns.
10. Attend and supervise the graduating class during Award’s Night.
11. Attend and direct the graduating class during Graduation.
12. Return supplies to the safe (scepters and graduation supply box) after graduation ceremony is concluded.
13. Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Preferably a member of the High School teaching staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Dedication to the service of youth.
2. Demonstrated ability to relate favorably with students.
