Seeking an independent, compassionate, and Registered Technician to join our team!

Why Belton Animal Clinic and Exotic Care Center in Belton, MO?We’re focused on making sure our hospital has the right tools to allow our doctor and medical staff the ability to provide excellent service and care. In addition to diagnostic and preventative services, our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house labs, cold therapy laser, and ultrasound. Our hospital is also the premiere exotics practice for the Kansas City area.

Who are we looking for?Applicants must have an active veterinary technician license and 1 years of veterinary technician experience, strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, capable of communicating effectively, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients.

Schedule: 
This is a full-time need working 4 days per week Mon-Fri and rotating Saturdays required.

Responsibilities:

  • Possess and maintain a Missouri Registered Veterinary Technician license in good standing
  • Work with veterinary assistants to assist Veterinarians
  • Collect and enter medical history
  • Handle and restrain pets for exams and procedures
  • Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Collect, prepare and interpret laboratory samples including fecal, urine, blood, aspirate, and dermatological sources.
  • Record results of diagnostic testing into the patient record
  • Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded pets
  • Perform laser therapy as prescribed
  • Perform diagnostic imaging
  • Prep patients for and assist in surgery
  • Administration of anesthesia and monitoring of patients under anesthesia
  • Perform dental prophy and chart assessment metrics
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the hospital, textiles, and medical equipment
  • Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
  • Provide client communication and education on husbandry, wellness care such as care recommended vaccinations or products, care plans and patient updates
  • Data entry of medical notes, service charges, client communications and so forth
  • Provide compassionate patient care
